I have been accused of too much monochrome but hey they are not my comfort zones they just feel right for me most of the time. But why not if not, lets have some color. Talking of the portraits, Bertha is one of the most positive people I know. she radiates it and I have learnt a lot about being in a positive state of mind from her. In this collection she might not be looking like an angel but look into those eyes and you would see a beautiful soul.

 

Putting That Final Touch by Ayoka Thompson

Often times I spend hours, days, weeks retouching and putting final touches to pictures. At times people just think photography is all about "snapping" this is not so. It is part of our job to make sure that each picture is exactly the way we want it to be after taking the raw image. Did I tell you that as a pro-photographer, it is always the best to capture your image in the RAW format. I learnt this on the job too but if you are just taking casual images you can save up space on your memory card by capturing in the JPEG format. well today's post is going to show you some of the stages I take in retouching my images. Okay, I had to blog this, virtually I am trying to change or re-brand my photography, from events, location shoots, to fashion, landscapes and artistic photos. I am opportuned to be working with one of the best in the photography industry; Hakeem Salaam. A lot of him has been rubbing on me, his retouching techniques, the Black in most of his images and what have you. What makes this video shoot so interesting is maybe the way we all came together, had fun yet achieved all we had hoped to achieve. Watch-out the video is going to smash the charts. Hopefully you'd learn some Shakiti Bobo moves from Paso... lol.. enjoy the pictures.
